Wardrobe
It is very important for the talent to choose the right-colored wardrobe before they are filmed in front of the green screen.
Colors to Avoid
The talent should avoid clothing that has any shade of green, turquoise, or yellow; otherwise, their clothes will be keyed out as soon as the chroma key is turned on from the HS-3200 switcher. The chroma key in the HS-3200 is designed to replace anything that is green in the shot. You will become a floating head on the screen if your clothing is keyed out.
Print/Pattern
It's safe to avoid wearing clothing that has floral, checkered, or striped patterns. These patterns can cause the video to flicker, which may be distracting to the viewers. Solid-colored clothing works best.
Fabrics
Avoid wearing clothing that is made out of shiny fabrics. The shine from the fabric can reflect the studio lighting and distort the key.
Hair
Let's face it. Humidity can get the best of us. If you have frizz or flyaways in your hair, try to do your best to maintain them before you step in front of the green screen. This goes for mustaches and beards as well. The green from the screen has a hard time trying to get through the fine gaps between your hair strands, and it is hard to key out.
Jewelry
Do not wear fancy, flashy jewelry that can cause a distraction during a green screen production. Large hoop earrings, dangly necklaces, and large bangle bracelets can cause distractions not just visually but audibly as well. The sound that it makes when the pieces of jewelry come in contact with each other can be picked up on the microphone.
