The video switcher is the center of your entire production. It will switch
between input sources and key in effects using a green screen/
chroma key technology. The Datavideo HS-2600 is an 8-input HD
All-in-one Mobile Cast studio, which comes integrated with a video
switcher, streaming encoder, recorder, and a monitor. The HS-2600
has four HD-SDI and four HDMI inputs. It supports up to 1080p
resolution, and has built-in signal converters on every input, so you
can connect various different resolutions and the switcher is able to
process it without needing an external converter. Outputs include
three HD-SDI and 1 HDMI that are assignable and three HDMI
program outputs. The HS-2600 also includes the Chroma key, Luma
key, downstream keying, PIP and multiple user settings. The switcher
also includes two balanced XLR audio inputs for connecting an
external audio mixer. The versatility of the HS-2600 allows you to
expand your production workflow. We will explore each feature of
the HS-2600 in the upcoming chapters. For now, take a look at the
workflow diagram in Figure 1.3 for reference on how all the
equipment in your workflow connect together.
