The PTR 15 4K Robotic Pan Tilt Head can be paired with most broadcast grade cameras on the market and supports a maximum payload of 4 kg. Its rotation range is 340° horizontally and positive and negative 45° vertically.
The main parts of the exterior that need to be introduced are the upper panel and the lower panel. The upper panel connects to the camera and handles camera control and power supply. The lower panel connects to the camera controller and the video switcher.
First, let’s look at the upper panel. For video connections, there is one HDMI input, one 12G SDI input, and one 3G SDI input.
For control, there is an RS 232/422 control signal output interface. The Remote port supports Lan C, 2 Port Pana, Ok Protocol, and BX Len control protocol outputs. The Zoom Sensor is used to connect the ZEK 1 and ZEK 2 to control the zoom function. If you want to control the camera over a network, please use the LAN port to connect to the camera. There is also a set of DIP switches used to change the Visca ID, with the combinations shown on the screen.
For power, the D tap DC Out supplies power to the connected camera, with a default output voltage of 12 volts. You can switch the voltage provided by the PTR 15 here. If you need to output 24 volts, in addition to switching this selector, you also need to enter the PTR 15 menu to enable high voltage output.
The remaining interfaces include a USB port for firmware updates, as well as Genlock, Timecode, and Tally Out.
Now let’s move on to the lower panel. The lower panel is responsible for connecting the controller and the switcher.
For video output, there is one HDMI output, one 12G SDI output, and one 3G SDI output. The supported resolutions are shown on the screen.
For control, there is an RS 422 interface, a LAN interface that supports DVIP and network control, and an infrared receiver.
For power, there is a 12 volt power output that can supply power to the camera, a DC Input for the PTR 15 itself, and the power switch.
The remaining connections include Genlock, Timecode, and Tally In.
This concludes the overview of the PTR 15 appearance.
