Let's begin with a physical overview of the ProTrack Control 100, starting with the rear panel.
For camera connectivity, the ProTrack Control 100 features four RS232/422 ports, supporting the Sony VISCA communication protocol. There is also one IP port, supporting DVIP, ONVIF, VISCA over IP, NDI, Pelco-D, and Pelco-P communication protocols. In addition, this IP port can also function as a PoE power supply interface. The HDMI port allows output of the assigned camera's feed, supporting a resolution of 4K 30. The remaining connections include a USB port for firmware updates, a Tally interface, a power input with on/off switch, and a Reset jack.
Now let's move to the front panel.
The front panel is organized into several sections: Camera Assignment and Pan, Tilt, Zoom Control, Image Settings, Menu and Preset controls, and finally the Auto-Tracking function keys.
We'll start with Camera Assignment and Pan, Tilt, Zoom Control.
The ProTrack Control 100 supports control of up to four cameras. The Cam 1 through 4 buttons correspond to RS 422 ports 1 through 4 on the rear panel. However, when using IP-based control, any camera that has been added to the device list can be assigned to Cam 1, 2, 3, or 4.
The Rocker Switch controls Zoom. The joystick controls Pan and Tilt, while rotating it controls Zoom. The Zoom control via rotation can be enabled or disabled in the menu. The center button can be configured as a Hot Key for a specific function.
The PTZ Speed knob adjusts the speed of Pan, Tilt, and Zoom. Pressing the knob toggles the adjustment target between Pan, Tilt and Zoom. The currently selected parameter is displayed on the home screen at the designated position.
The Lock key disables Pan, Tilt, Zoom operation to prevent accidental input.
Next, we'll look at the Image Settings section. The front panel provides seven sets of knobs and buttons for quick image adjustment.
Starting with Focus, Iris, and Gain — pressing each button activates its automatic mode, and the current status is updated on screen in real time. If a knob is turned while in automatic mode, control will switch to manual. Pressing the Focus knob triggers the camera's One-Push Focus function; turning left pulls focus closer, and turning right pushes it further. Pressing the Iris knob switches the camera's exposure to Aperture Priority mode; turning left closes the iris, and turning right opens it. Pressing the Gain knob activates manual gain control; turning left decreases Gain, and turning right increases it.
Moving on to White Balance, R Gain, B Gain, and Shutter.
Pressing the Auto WB button activates the camera's automatic white balance mode. The One Push button to its left serves as a Hot Key for one-push white balance. Pressing the knob cycles through the camera's white balance modes; rotating the knob left or right currently has no assigned function.
For the R Gain and B Gain knobs, pressing either knob resets the corresponding R or B Gain value; turning left decreases the value, and turning right increases it. The Reset R/B Gain button below resets both R Gain and B Gain simultaneously.
Finally, for Shutter — pressing the button activates auto shutter mode. Pressing the knob switches the camera's exposure to Shutter Priority mode; turning left slows the shutter speed, and turning right increases it.
Now let's look at the Menu controls.
The home screen of the 3-inch LCD display shows real-time status information for the camera currently under control. All parameters update live as adjustments are made.
Moving to the nine-key grid section:
Home opens the ProTrack Control 100 main menu. Vive View displays the live feed of the camera currently being controlled on the screen. PTC/PTR opens the menu for the PTC camera or PTR Robotic Pan Tilt Head currently under control. PTR Cam opens the OSD for the camera connected to the PTR Robotic Pan Tilt Head currently in use.
Now for the numeric keypad section:
Cam PWR powers the currently assigned camera on or off. Store position activates the Preset position save function. To save Preset positions 1 through 6, press Store position , then press the corresponding number key from 1 to 6 directly — the position is then saved. To save Preset positions 7 through 255, press Store position , then use the numeric keys to enter the desired number, and finally press the Enter key on the left to complete the save operation.
delete position deletes a saved Preset position, and Call recalls a saved Preset position. Both follow the same procedure as Store position and will not be repeated here. PRES. returns the currently controlled PTC camera or PTR Robotic Pan Tilt Head to its home position.
The symbol input key is used to call up a camera from the device list via Call Cam. Simply press the key, enter the number of the camera to be assigned, then press Enter on the left side to complete the assignment.
Finally, let's look at the Auto-Tracking function keys.
From top to bottom, these keys correspond to Auto-Tracking control for Cam 1 through 4. The AT key on the far left is the Auto-Tracking on/off toggle, and it illuminates in three colors — red, blue, and white — each representing a different status as shown on screen.
The center group of three keys controls the framing size of the tracked subject. The right group of three keys controls the subject's position within the frame during tracking.
It is important to note that the framing size and position keys only take effect when the AT key is lit red, meaning Auto-Tracking is active. When the AT key is blue or white — indicating that Auto-Tracking is inactive or unsupported — these six keys function as Hot Keys for saving or recalling Preset positions 1 through 6.
This concludes the physical overview and key operation guide for the ProTrack Control 100.
