This video will cover the switching functions of the HS-1600T MKII, categorized into four main sections.

・Mix & Wipe
First look at the hardware. On the front panel, you can quickly switch between Mix and Wipe transition effects, as well as set the direction and reverse of the Wipe effect. Use the T-bar for manual control of the transition speed or use the Auto button for automatic transitions.
Next, let's look at the software. Open the OSD menu, where in the Start section, you can adjust the speed of automatic transitions. This setting is measured in frames. You can also select a third type of Wipe effect and adjust the size and color of the Wipe border. The BKG color here refers to the color of the BKG keys in the PGM/PVW channel keys and is not related to the transition effect.

・PIP
Starting with the hardware operation. To use a hard cut to make the PIP window appear on the PGM screen, simply press the PGM key in PIP/Split. To use Mix or Wipe effects to make the PIP window appear, first press the PVW key, then use the T-bar or Auto key to apply the transition effect and display the PIP window.
Now, back to the software. Open the OSD menu, go to the PIP/Split section, where you can adjust the PIP source, the size and position of PIP window, and the size and color of the PIP window border. In the PIP crop section, you can crop the PIP window.

・Split
Again, starting with the hardware. Press the Split key, when the key illuminates with a solid orange light, it will switch to the split screen. The operation is the same as for PIP. To use a hard cut to make the split screen appear on the PGM screen, press the PGM key. To use Mix or Wipe effects to make the split screen appear, first press the PVW key, then use the T-bar or Auto key to apply the transition effect and display the split screen.
Now, back to the software. In the PIP/Split section, you can adjust the Split source for the split screen, which will be displayed on the right side of the split screen, and the size and color of the border.

・Lumakey
As for Lumakey, start with the software. Open the OSD menu and go to the Lumakey section. The Lumakey source is usually input 4, as inputs 1, 2, and 3 are PTC camera feeds. There are two modes, black and white, choose depending on the Lumakey material. It is recommended to use the default value for “Cleanup Level”, and unless you need a semi-transparent effect, always use the maximum value for transparency.
Finally, back to the hardware. The operation is the same as for PIP and Split. To make it appear with a hard cut, press the PGM key in Lumakey. To make it appear with a transition effect, press the PVW key and then use the T-bar or Auto key for transitioning.
That concludes the various switching functions of the HS-1600T MKII.
