Welcome to Datavideo Academy. In this video, we will explain how to use the HS-1600T MKII to control cameras, divided into the following five sections.
First, let's look at the camera settings in the HS-1600T MKII's OSD menu. After selecting a camera, you can view camera information, change the output video format, mirror the image, adjust the pan and tilt directions, set the lens movement speed, manually control the white balance, and configure the tally light color.
The front panel buttons labeled CH A, B, and C correspond to the HDBaseT inputs 1, 2, and 3 on the rear panel. Pressing these buttons assigns the camera. The Menu button opens the camera's OSD, where you can navigate the options using the joystick and confirm selections with the Enter button.
This section controls the camera's focus, white balance (WB), and iris. When the Focus and Iris buttons are illuminated white, they are in automatic mode; when illuminated red, they are in manual mode, and you can adjust them using the knobs. The three white balance buttons function as follows: ATW illuminates red to indicate auto white balance is on. Push Auto is a one-touch white balance setting, which requires holding the button for five to six seconds. MWB illuminates red to activate the OSD for manual white balance adjustment, allowing you to tweak the red and blue gain to change the color temperature.
The HS-1600T MKII defaults to using the joystick for pan and tilt operations and the knobs for zoom. The Speed control adjusts the speed of pan, tilt, and zoom. The Lock button disables the joystick and knobs to prevent accidental operations.
Pressing the STR button activates the preset position memory function, with the position lights flashing red. Press a button to save a position. To recall a position, simply press the corresponding number button.
If you are using an auto-tracking camera like the PTC-145, PTC-285, or PTC-305, the buttons and joystick functions switch to auto-tracking mode when the camera's auto-tracking feature is enabled. To enable auto-tracking, select the camera and press Enter. The Enter button will illuminate pink, indicating auto-tracking is active. Press Enter again to disable auto-tracking.
When auto-tracking is enabled, the preset position buttons switch to Full, Half Body, and Close Up composition buttons for adjusting the framing during auto-tracking. The Speed control adjusts the tracking speed.
Additionally, when there is more than one person in the frame, a green object detection box appears, indicating the person being tracked. You can use the joystick to select the target and press the Lock button to confirm. The detection box will disappear after one to two seconds. Note that the object detection box is output to the PGM, so if you want to avoid displaying it, go to the camera's Web UI and disable the object detection box feature.
This concludes the introduction to using the HS-1600T MKII to control cameras.
