When using Voice Track Fifty in conjunction with the SE-2600MU, the Key Tie function on the SE-2600MU is all that is needed to extend the application of Voice Track Fifty into a virtual studio environment.
All chroma key settings are configured exclusively on the SE-2600MU. No changes are required to the Voice Track Fifty settings that were established in previous tutorial videos.
When working in a virtual studio environment, it is important to note that a single background image cannot be used universally across all shots. Separate background images must be prepared for the wide shot, the host, and the guest respectively. When selecting appropriate images, in addition to using your own existing images or AI-generated content, you may visit the Datavideo Virtual Set website and navigate to the TVS Center, where a variety of scenes are available in both free and paid options for you to choose from and edit as needed. It is recommended to download the PSD version of the files, as this allows for minor adjustments to the images. Once a suitable image has been selected, crop it according to the appropriate angle for your shooting environment, maintaining a 16:9 aspect ratio. The file can be saved in either .jpg or .png. Once the images are ready, a software application called Image Switcher Import Export is required to import the images into the SE-2600MU.
Begin by visiting the Datavideo official website, navigating to the HS-3200 product page, and downloading the Switcher Image Import Export ZIP file. Then connect to the network where the SE-2600MU is located. Extract the downloaded ZIP file and launch the software by clicking the file shown on screen. Under the Setup tab, you can verify the connection status between your computer and the SE-2600MU. If Connected is not displayed, check the device's IP address and click Scan to search for connected devices again.
The following section explains how to import images into the SE-2600MU. The import procedure for all other file types follows the same steps and will not be repeated separately. Navigate to the Still tab, click on an image slot number, enter the position number for the image you wish to import, then click Import Still, select the image file you want to import, and finally click OK. This completes the process of importing an image into the SE-2600MU. In this example, the guest's background image is assigned to Still number 1, the wide shot background image to Still number 2, and the host's background image to Still number 3.
We will now proceed with configuring the SE-2600MU. Before continuing, please ensure you have watched the SE-2600chroma key tutorial videos in order to follow along with the steps covered in this video.
As a quick review of the hardware connections: Camera One, which covers the guest, is connected to Input 1 on the SE-2600MU; Camera Two, which covers the wide shot, is connected to Input 2; and Camera Three, which covers the host, is connected to Input 3. Next, we will load the imported background images into inputs 4, 5, and 6 of the SE-2600MU.
First, enter the SE-2600MU's OSD, navigate to File, and set the File Type to Still. The images previously imported using Image Switcher Import Export will now be visible. Next, under the Load Still section, step one is to select Input 4, step two is to select Still Number 1, and step three is to execute the Load action. Input 4 of the SE-2600MU will now carry the guest's background image. Repeat steps one, two, and three to load the wide shot and host background images into Inputs 5 and 6 respectively.
Next, navigate to the Keyer tab. Begin by configuring Key 1 — set the keying method to Chroma, set the key layer style to Self, and set the Key Source to Input 1. All other parameters can remain at their default values for now. This configuration assigns the signal from Input 1 on the SE-2600MU to the Key 1 layer, where chroma keying will be applied. Following the same steps, configure Key 2 with the keying method set to Chroma and the key layer style set to Self, but with the Key Source set to Input 2. Finally, configure Key 3 with Chroma and Self selected as before, but with the Key Source set to Input 3.
Now navigate to the Chroma tab. With the Keyer field set to Key 1, the Key Source below will automatically sync with the Keyer tab and display Input 1. Enable the Key Tie function and set the source signal to Input 4. Then enable the Key Tie function for Key 2 and set its source signal to Input 5. Finally, enable the Key Tie function for Key 3 and set its source signal to Input 6. All other parameters can remain at their default values for now.
Once all of the above steps have been completed, background image will automatically switch together with the corresponding camera feed whenever scenes are changed in the virtual studio environment.
