Operating the Voice tracks 50 is handled entirely through its built-in Web UI, which you can access using one of two methods.
The first way is a direct connection. Simply run an HDMI cable from the HDMI 2 port on the Voice tracks 50 to a monitor, then plug a mouse and keyboard into the USB ports. Since one of the two available USB ports is already occupied by the USB mixer, we recommend using a USB hub for the peripherals. Once everything is hooked up and the unit is powered on, the UI will appear on your screen. The default login credentials for both the username and password are "admin".
Alternatively, you can access the interface over the network using a computer. First, ensure your computer and the Voice tracks 50 are on the same subnet. Use an IP scanning tool to locate the Voice tracks 50's IP address, then type that address into your web browser to pull up the UI.
Now, let’s take a quick look at the interface. There are nine tabs in total. Since the Device, Action, and System tabs contain more complex settings, we will cover those in detail in a separate video.
Starting with the Dashboard, this page allows you to monitor all device currently linked to the Voice tracks 50. Clicking the arrow icon will take you directly to a camera's specific Web UI, while the pencil icon opens the page to modify a device’s IP settings. Within that page, toggling the General Fields to "Off" will disable that specific piece of device.
Under the device section, you will find three sub-tabs: Mic Pool, Switcher Pool, and Camera Pool. Beyond the physical hardware wiring, you must configure the connections for your microphones, switcher, and cameras here to fully integrate them with the Voice tracks 50.
The Action tab is essentially the brain of the operation, where you define the working logic between the USB mixer, cameras, and switcher. In short, the Voice tracks 50 receives individual track audio data from the USB mixer. Based on the logic defined on this page, it sends commands telling the cameras which preset to move to and instructing the switcher on which channel to cut to.
In the Network tab, you can adjust the network settings for the Voice tracks 50 itself. One important note: the Network Mask field requires CIDR format. For example, if your subnet mask is 255.255.255.0, you should convert that to CIDR and enter "24" in the field.
Moving to the System tab, you'll first see the firmware section. The Voice tracks 50 supports automatic online updates. As long as the unit is connected to the internet, it will search for the latest version; simply click "Update Now" to download and install it. In the Login Info section, you can change the default "admin" credentials. There is also the HDMI Output Configuration, which lets you adjust the output resolution for HDMI ports 1 and 2, with the UI being the only output content option.
Items such as Microphone, Far End, Microphone Tie, Title Generator, Virtual Director, and Logic all relate to the specific rules for switcher transitions. These will be explained in a dedicated video.
Finally, the Profile tab allows you to bundle your device connections, action logic, and system transition rules into a single configuration file. Here, you can save, load, import, export, or delete profiles. You can also rename them by clicking the pencil icon. That wraps up our overview of the Voice tracks 50 user interface.
