To access the HS-1650T streaming encoder’s Web UI, first connect both the HS-1650T and your computer to the same router. Then, go to the Microsoft Store or Apple App Store and download DVIP Network Config.
Launch DVIP Network Config, select the network interface associated with the IP provided by the router, and click OK. The software will automatically scan for DVIP devices on the same network. Once the encoder is detected, take note of its IP address.
Open a web browser and enter the encoder’s IP address to launch the encoder’s Web UI. The default login credentials are admin for both username and password.
The Web UI consists of three tabs.
The Encoder tab contains all settings related to streaming and recording.
The Network tab allows you to enable or disable DHCP, configure the IP address, and set the system time.
The System tab allows you to change the device name, update firmware, modify login credentials, and format the SD card.
Below the tab menu, the interface displays current streaming and recording settings, along with the SD card’s available storage space.
At the top of the interface, from left to right, are the Start buttons for streaming and recording, status indicators for both processes, the current input video format, and the system language selection.
To use the HS-1650T for recording, first select Record from the top menu, then go to the Encoder tab.
Here, you can choose the recording Format, Resolution, and Bitrate.
The Encoding Format and Bitrate settings can also be adjusted using the hardware buttons. Don’t forget to press Apply to confirm changes.
You can start recording either by clicking Start in the Web UI or by pressing the Start hardware button.
To use the HS-1650T for streaming, first select Stream from the top menu, then go to the Encoder tab.
Enable Main Stream, then select the desired resolution for the stream. The default settings for Bitrate and Key Frame Interval are generally sufficient.
The available streaming protocols are RTMP and SRT. This guide will explain how to stream to YouTube using RTMP and how to stream to dvCloud using SRT.
To stream to YouTube using RTMP:
First, select RTMP as the protocol.
Next, copy the Stream URL from YouTube’s live stream settings and paste it into the RTMP URL field. Then copy the Stream Key and paste it into the Stream Name field.
Click Apply, then press Start in the Web UI or press the Start hardware button to begin streaming.
To stream to dvCloud using SRT:
First, go to dvCloud and navigate to the Source tab.
Click [Add a video source] in the top left corner to open the configuration page.
Enter a Channel Name, then scroll down and select [Stream from hardware encoder]. Under the Protocol section, choose [SRT], then click [Save Channel] to return to the Source tab.
Click the newly created channel name to enter its settings page and take note of the SRT IP and SRT Port values.
Return to the HS-1650T Web UI.
Set the Protocol to SRT Caller.
In the Caller URL field, enter the SRT IP from dvCloud.
In the SRT Port field, enter the corresponding SRT Port from dvCloud.
Click Apply, then press Start in the Web UI or use the Start hardware button to begin streaming.
Return to dvCloud, and you should now see the live video feed from the HS-1650T on the Source tab. If no video appears, try refreshing the dvCloud webpage.
The HS-1650T also supports simultaneous recording and streaming. Simply select Stream and Record from the top menu. The rest of the settings are the same as previously described.
Finally, here’s an overview of the hardware buttons related to recording and streaming:
Mode: Toggles between Record, Stream, and Stream and Record modes.
Format: Changes the video encoding format.
Bitrate: Offers three preset levels. Low, Medium, and High.
Start and Stop: Initiates or halts the recording or streaming process.
This concludes the explanation of how to record and stream using the HS-1650T.
