This video first explains how to connect cameras to the HS-1650T, then demonstrates how to control them.
Connecting a camera to the HS-1650T is very straightforward. Simply use a Cat 6 Ethernet cable to link the HDBaseT In port on the rear panel of the HS-1650T with the HDBaseT port of a Datavideo PTC camera. Once connected, the setup is complete. You should then be able to see the camera’s live image appear on the switcher and begin controlling the camera.
If there is no image or the camera cannot be controlled, first go to the Camera tab on the second page of the HS-1650T menu and check the camera information. If the connection is unsuccessful, all values in this section will display as zero.
Next, check whether the Ethernet cable is loose or damaged, verify that the camera ports are correctly connected, and ensure that the camera’s video output resolution does not exceed 1920x1080.
There are five areas on the HS-1650T related to camera control: the Auto Tracking Setup tab and Camera tab in the upper-left section, the camera preset area in the lower-left section, the Camera tab in the menu, and the joystick with the speed buttons used for controlling pan, tilt, and zoom.
The HDBaseT In ports on the rear panel of the HS-1650T correspond to Cameras 1, 2, and 3 from left to right. So how do you select which camera to control?
If you want to control Camera 1’s pan, tilt, and zoom, go to the lower-left preset section and press the “Camera 1” button. The system will then recognize Camera 1 as the active camera and allow immediate control of its pan, tilt, and zoom.
If the menu is currently open, you can also select “Camera 1” from the Camera tab in the menu to achieve the same result.
To control Camera 2’s white balance, focus, iris, and shutter, go to the Camera tab in the upper-left section and select “Camera 2.” The system will then recognize Camera 2 as the active unit.
White Balance offers three options: Auto, One Push, and Manual. Selecting Manual opens the red gain and blue gain adjustment page. The values set here are synchronized with those in the Camera tab on the second page of the menu.
To adjust the Shutter setting, tap the Shutter button to open the adjustment interface. You can use either the slider or the plus and minus buttons.
Focus and Iris can only be adjusted in this tab, and manual adjustments are made directly using the plus and minus buttons.
For Auto Tracking configuration, if you want to set up tracking for Camera 2, go to the Auto Tracking tab and select “Camera 2.” The system will then recognize Camera 2 as the target for tracking configuration.
For additional auto-tracking settings, please refer to the separate instructional video titled “Auto-Tracking Overview.”
Next is the Preset section.
Each camera can store four preset positions. Tap the Save button in the lower right to enter save mode, then tap one of the preset numbers to complete the save. An image key will automatically be generated in the saved slot, making it easier for users to identify the saved camera position.
Note that when auto-tracking is enabled, the image key will be replaced by the subject size adjustment button.
Lastly, the joystick.
Pushing the joystick controls pan and tilt, while rotating it controls zoom.
The three speed buttons allow adjustment of pan and tilt speed. The Lock button disables pan, tilt, and zoom functions to prevent accidental operation.
This concludes the explanation on how to control cameras using the HS-1650T.
On the second page,
“Memory Speed” defines how quickly the camera moves when transitioning to a preset position. The higher the number, the faster the movement. This speed setting is stored with each individual preset, so when different presets are called, the camera's pan and tilt speed will vary according to the saved value.
“R Gain” and “B Gain” are used to manually adjust the camera’s white balance.
“Power” allows you to turn the camera on or off.
“Tally LED” directly controls the camera’s tally light.
“Camera Information” helps confirm whether the camera is correctly connected to the HS-1650T. If the connection is not established properly, all values will show as zero.
In the Setup tab,
You can change the output resolution for both the PGM and Multi view outputs and configure video color encoding.
“Save Setup” saves the settings in this tab, which will be automatically recalled the next time the HS-1650T is powered on.
You can also enable or disable DHCP and manually assign the IP address of the HS-1650T.
The second page of the Setup tab is for viewing device firmware information only.
This concludes the explanation of the control interface on the touchscreen area.
