DV Director is a control software for the SE-2600MU, designed by Datavideo. Simply visit the official product page for the SE-2600MU on the Datavideo website to download the latest version of DV Director. Once downloaded, extract the compressed file — no installation is required, and the software can be run directly.
Upon launching the software, first select your language and then click Apply. The system will then begin searching for the SE-2600MU.
If no device is found, check whether the SE-2600MU is powered on and whether any hardware cables have come loose, then click Rescan, or manually enter the IP address of the SE-2600MU.
Once the device is located, Select the device you wish to connect to and click Connect to establish the connection.
After entering the main software interface, you will be presented with the following screen. Along the top are category tabs for the primary functions, providing an operational interface that allows users to quickly control the SE-2600MU. The three-line icon in the upper right corner opens a more detailed settings menu, designed to supplement the quick-access interface. The gear icon in the upper right opens the SE-2600MU's device system menu. This application therefore has three layers of operational interface — take care not to confuse them.
Starting with the Home tab. The functional areas contained here are essentially equivalent to the controls on the SE-2600s front panel, and operate in exactly the same way.
User tab. Pressing any key will quickly recall a saved user memory. Under Setting, Icon allows you to change the thumbnail image for each key. Swap exchanges two memory positions — simply select the two positions you wish to swap and click Swap. Load recalls a previously saved user memory. Save stores the current device state as a new user memory.
Wipe tab. This tab allows you to change the style of Wipe transitions. The Rev. button enables the reverse function. Under Setting, if Mode is set to off, the Wipe transition will have no visible border line. The following three parameters adjust the border line color, softness, and line thickness respectively.
PIP tab. The eight buttons displayed on screen correspond to the Key PGM 1 through 4 and
Key PVW 1 through 4 buttons on the SE-2600's front panel. For easier identification, entering PIP Icon allows you to change the icon displayed for PIP 1 through 4. Under Setting, you can select which PIP to adjust, change the sub-window video source, and modify the position and size of the sub-window.
AUX tab. This page is used to assign the output content for the three SDI outputs and three HDMI outputs on the SE-2600MU's rear panel. Select the desired output content from the options shown at the bottom of the page.
Audio tab. Audio Mode enables or disables the audio output of the SE-2600MU. The section below is used to select the audio source for the PGM output. External refers to the mini XLR input on the rear panel.
Still tab. This page displays all static images currently imported into the SE-2600MU. Under Layout, you can choose to display the page in either a 1x3 or 2x4 grid format. Delete removes an imported static image. Load assigns a static image as the input source for a specified channel — first select the channel, then select the image to use as the input source, and finally click Load. Save captures the current frame from a specified input channel as a static image and saves it to a designated location. The procedure follows the same order as Load.
Keyer tab. The purpose of this page is to quickly adjust the chroma key settings for Key 1 through 4 and Down strem key 1 through 2, allowing you to rapidly assign the keying method, enable automatic chroma key, or configure the invert function for luma key or linear key. Entering the Adjust page allows you to fine-tune the transparency and luminance range settings for the Down strem key layer.
Cross Point tab. Before introducing the Cross Point page, let's briefly review what Cross Point is. The Cross Point function allows users to freely reassign the routing order of video and audio input signals without making any changes to the physical hardware connections on the SE-2600MU, providing greater flexibility in audio-visual configuration.
Returning to the Cross Point page — the Input section at the top refers to Inputs 1 through 8 as shown on the multi view display. The numbers 1 through 8 extending from Video XPT at the bottom refer to the physical input interfaces on the SE-2600MU's rear panel, where 1 through 4 correspond to SDI 1 through 4, and 5 through 8 correspond to HDMI 5 through 8.
By default, input sources 1 through 8 map sequentially to multi view channels 1 through 8. Cross Point allows users to freely modify this mapping. For example, to reassign source signal 1 to input channel 5, simply press Input 5, then press the designated signal 1. On the multi view display, you will see in the information field that channel 5 has changed from Input 5 to Input 1.
Selecting the numbers 1 through 8 extending from Audio XPT switches from video signals to audio signals. FOL. stands for Audio Follow Video, and EXT. refers to the XLR input on the rear panel. Entering Audio Setting allows you to adjust audio volume and delay.
The next video will begin covering the menu section.
