Welcome to Datavideo Academy.
In this video, we will show you how to control the PTC camera’s Auto-Tracking function using various Datavideo devices.
If no external devices are connected, you can access the camera’s Web UI to operate the tracking feature.
The quickest way to access the Web UI is by connecting your computer directly to the camera.
First, use the remote control to check the camera’s IP address through the OSD menu.
Then, use an Ethernet cable to connect the computer to the camera’s DVIP port.
Since you have found that the PTC’s IP address is 192.168.100.100, set the first three octets of your computer’s IP address to 192 .168 .100, and the fourth octet can be any number between 0 and 255, but not 100.
Then open a browser and in the address bar, enter 192.168.100.100 to open the login page of the camera’s web UI.
The default username and password are both "admin."
Once logged in, click “Auto Tracking" in the side menu to access the tracking control page. For more details on the available functions, please refer to the previous video.
Additionally, the RMC-1AT remote control allows you to quickly toggle the Auto-Tracking function on or off and select the framing style.
Next, let’s explore how to control the camera’s Auto-Tracking with external controllers.
・PTZ View Assist
The Auto-Tracking interface in PTZ View Assist automatically switches when the tracking function for the designated camera is activated.
Select the camera you want to control and enable the tracking function.
Once activated, the corresponding button will light up red, and the "Camera Control" section on the right will switch to the “Auto-Tracking Settings” interface.
If you select a different camera or disable auto-tracking, the interface will revert to manual control mode. For additional settings, navigate to the menu > "Auto Tracking" tab.
・RMC-300A
You can access the Auto-Tracking settings through the RMC-300A’s LCD menu.
Select the desired camera using the channel buttons, then click the [Auto Tracking] button on the LCD to enter the tracking settings page for that camera.
・SHOWCAST 100
On the SHOWCAST 100 touch panel, you can find the Auto-Tracking controls, including the on/off switch for auto-tracking, target selection, subject positioning, and tracking speed adjustment.
If the “Function” field is set to "Switcher," the "POSITION" section on the left will show the framing style controls for cameras with auto-tracking enabled.
Some settings may only be adjustable via the camera’s Web UI.
・iCAST Mini
The iCAST Mini offers two locations to control the Auto-Tracking function.
The first is on the LCD home screen. When tracking is activated, the preset position section will automatically switch to the tracking settings interface, allowing adjustments for framing style, target selection, subject positioning, and tracking speed.
The second is in the "Auto Tracking" page, where additional tracking settings can be configured.
・ZR-1 (on TPC-700(P))
You can control Auto-Tracking through the ZR-1 app installed on the TPC-700(P).
In the Home tab, cameras with tracking capabilities will display a tracking toggle switch. Toggling it will turn the tracking function on or off.
In the Auto-Tracking tab, you can fine-tune all related settings.
・HS-1600T MKII
The HS-1600T MKII uses hardware buttons to control the tracking feature.
When a tracking camera is connected and tracking is activated, the buttons and joystick will switch to Auto-Tracking mode.
To activate tracking, select the desired camera and press "Enter."
The selected camera button will illuminate pink, indicating that tracking is activated.
Once tracking is activated, the buttons and joystick will function as shown in the following diagram. Some settings may need to be adjusted via the camera’s Web UI.
That concludes the introduction on how to access the auto-tracking control interface using various Datavideo devices.
