My courses

There are many different video tutorial production methods for Micro-Course, University Open Online Course (UOOC) and Massive Open Online Course (MOOC), but they usually yield different qualities under different circumstances.  Bad video quality wastes efforts of teachers, and cause negative impact on the team spirit. In this chapter, we will give you an overview of the four production methods that Datavideo designs. These methods can be easily used by the school teacher and students for production of quality videos. In-depth discussion will be in later sections of this chapter, taking you through different video tutorial production methods for Micro-Course, UOOC and MOOC step by step.

Virtual Classroom

“Virtual Classroom” is a virtual studio system designed specifically for the school. With the teacher standing before a green backdrop, the chromakeying technique can then be applied to merge the teacher into a virtual background image. The interaction between the teacher and other virtual objects adds more creativity to the video tutorial. Visual stimulation created by the video tutorial will enhance effectiveness of learning. The video tutorial will also eliminate various factors that will lead to inability to present certain course materials in front of students or create certain learning environments for students.

Micro-Course Classroom

The most distinguishing feature of the Micro-Course Classroom is its ability to provide a high resolution video tutorial without changing the traditional teaching method. In the Micro-Course Classroom, an ultra-short focus camera is used and digital course content is projected onto the green backdrop using a rear projection technique. The teacher is allowed to make notes on the green backdrop using the electronic interactive pen. The chromakey technology creates high quality video tutorials by combining digital course content with the camera image. The teacher alone is adequate to complete the video production using this method. Not only does this method offer you an easy way to create videos, the teacher can also use the existing powerpoint slides in the class without having to spend additional time on lecture preparation. Micro-course videos can be created on a massive scale.

Mobile Classroom

“Mobile Classroom” utilizes the multi-camera shooting technique so that the user does not have to worry about the space as a limiting factor. “Mobile Classroom” can be used for production of videos for events such as sports game, university open online course, micro-course, music concert, speech contest, experiments in science lab and etc. “Mobile Classroom” definitely enriches your video style.

Remote Classroom

Three to four cameras are mounted in the classroom with a cameraman operating the cameras at a remote location through the network. With this type of camera setup, the students will not be disturbed while you operate the cameras. You can place the switcher at any location and control up to four cameras on the same switcher, which gives you the video switching standard that matches the broadcast quality.

MOOC Classroom

In order to meet high demands of video tutorial production for the MOOC platform, Datavideo recommends the school to build a MOOC Classroom. The MOOC Classroom, equipped with all equipment of mobile classroom, micro-course classroom and virtual classroom, is just like a studio room for video tutorial production. There is also a central control room in the MOOC Classroom to allow easy management of video production flow and eliminate the hassle of running around for the teacher.
